MJ libre

MJ libre

P. Diddy
is a celebrity knows all too well what it's like to be on the wrong side of the law.

"It seems like the devil is heavily at work," P. Diddy told Access. "I would say for us all to wait until the evidence is in and God bless Michael. He has had a positive impact on all of us. Let's pray for him, let's pray for everyone involved."

"So many people are focusing on his appearance and saying, 'Well if he did this to his face, he did this to his appearance, then he must be strange in other areas,' and I don't necessarily agree with that"
said LL Cool J

Monica
- My heart definitely goes out, not only to him but the other side because there is always going to be two sides, but who are we to judge?" said R&B sensation Monica.

Cris Judd, a former backup dancer for Michael, said it's hard to believe this is happening to Jackson again.

"All I can say to Michael is to keep his head up and know that he's got supporters and people got his back," said Judd.

Berry Gordy - Motown legend Berry Gordy, who discovered The Jackson Five, is one of them.

"I know Michael to be a fine person and I'm hoping that whatever this is, the truth will come out and he'll be vindicated," said Gordy.

Alicia Keys told Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson she feels Michael has been manipulated in the media.

"I'm mad at that guy who dag-gone interviewed him," Alicia told Shaun.

"Who, Martin Bashir?" asked Shaun.

"I gonna tell you right now, I think [he's] a piece of crap. I really do. I think it was evil and manipulative what that guy did," said Alicia.

"He could face some prison time," said Shaun.

"I don't know who is trying to assassinate that man's character but it's really a shame," said Alicia.

Missy Elliott
- He's my biggest influence so that's why I'm very defensive, I'm ready to fight about Michael Jackson, so we pray to God he didn't do it, 'cause I might go to jail trying to defend him." Missy Elliott speaking at the Vibe awards

Elizabeth Taylor - Their whole reaction is that he is guilty. I thought the law was 'innocent until proven guilty. I know he is innocent and I hope they all eat crow."
- Elizabeth Taylor speaking of her support for Michael - Los Angeles (Reuters)

Jermaine Jackson - "I am sick and f**king tired of everybody saying these things about my family. "We will fight and we will stand up and everybody who knows this family around the world will support us because, at the end of the day, this is nothing but a modern-day lynching. "This is what they want to see - him in handcuffs! You got it! But it won't be for long, I promise you."
-]Jermaine Jackson expressing his views about the accusations leveled against his brother on a CNN phone in show
"This DA has a vendetta against Michael because he didn't get him 10 years ago."
- Comic Steve Harvey, who feels there's something amiss in the police investigation of Michael's home. Harvey fears the timing of the raid smacks of something sinister, and he thinks Santa Barbara District Attorney Tom Sneddon, who oversaw the last Jackson child molestation investigation a decade ago,
is out to get him before he retires. - Wenn International music news

Rick James
- "These accusations are clearly lies, they are untrue."
"If Michael's guilty of anything, it's the Peter Pan syndrome, the same thing I'm guilty of ... the same thing a lot of people are guilty of. We do not want to grow up. We do not want to get old. We love children."
- Rick James - Tesco.net

Nicole Richie - "I grew up with him and I've spent a lot of time at Neverland and nothing has ever happened with me in any way."
"You have to look at both sides. I do think it is very convenient that his album came out and all this stuff is happening. I definitely do think that's very convenient. ... It really hurts me to see that his whole life is ruined."
- Nicole Richie, daughter of R&B singer Lionel Richie and god daughter of Michael Jackson speaking at the recent Vibe awards about her belief that the charges stem from people trying to bring Michael down on the day that he released his new album, Number Ones.

Smokey Robinson
- Entertainer Smokey Robinson Speaks Out In Support of Michael Jackson : "Michael has a life just like the child does, just like the parents of the child. Everybody has a life. You know, so I think that Michael is entitled to defend his life as much as the alleged victim is entitled to bring out- about the accusations. [...]

But you know you come to know a person well over the period of time that you know them, especially when you know them for that many years. And you kind of know their inners and I find it hard to believe that he could be guilty of the things that hes being accused of. And I regret the fact that news-the negative news is more newsworthy than the positive news in any case.[...]

The kids were in the same room with him, but nobody is talking about that. Everybody is talking about he slept with the kids. Yes, but how? He slept in the room with the kids, not in the bed with the kids. Nobody is talking about that."

Angelina Jolie
: There were a couple of suicide bombings in Turkey the other day, that killed a bunch of innocent people. Meanwhile, on CNN, the only thing they can talk about is Michael Jackson. I felt sick to my stomach. Where do ethics come into play?
Those bastards at CNN and wherever else, where hanging out by the Santa Barbara Airport, to get footage of MJ...

They completely destroyed him! I mean, if he is innocent, they've destroyed him!!

I honestly, truly, I just don't think that Michael Jackson had any illicit, sexual relations with the minors he's known.
I think he's just sort of anti-social, or asocial... He's existential... A bit eccentric. He doesn't really know what's appropriate and what's innapropriate. it isn't appropriate to SLEEP with children. I mean, I think a lot of us here have fond childhood memories of climbing into bed with our moms (or dads...) at 3 in the morning, when we had a "bad dream". However, this situation is totally different.

Michael Jackson is not an "Average joe". Clearly, he does not follow societal norms of behaviour.

I am convinced he's just trying to live his life vicariously through children. He's an existentialist. It's like in 'The Outsider' by Alburt Camus, the main character was sent to death for not crying at his mothers funeral....

Ruben Studdard - American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, believes the best approach is to ignore the hype.

"I don't really think about it at all," he says. "I love his music and I love him as a musician, and I will always be one of his No. 1 fans. No matter what goes on with him, he'll still have a fan in me."

Liza Minelli : 'Michael's Innocent'

No matter what charges are filed this week by the Santa Barbara District Attorney against Michael Jackson, Liza Minnelli says he's innocent.

"Those people [the family of the accuser] are after money," she says. "It was the same way 10 years ago. I've spent a lot of time at Neverland. There's never a time when children are unsupervised. There are people everywhere."

The entire family attended, FOX reported, with Janet, LaToya, Jermaine, Randy, Marlon, Jackie, Tito and Reebe, all there with their own children. Of course, Michael's parents, Joe and Katherine, also attended.

Other guests included Jermaine Dupri, Rodney Jerkins, baseball star Darryl Strawberry, Jackie Stallone (Sly's mum), Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath, Lionel Ritchie, former Motown executive Bobby Taylor, (who discovered the Jackson 5 with Gladys Knight) Mario van Peebles, Chris Tucker, and brothers Aaron and Nick Carter.

Magic Johnson : "We should wait, let all the facts come out-let the trial happen, and then we'll see what happens from there"

Will Smith and Lisa Raye(All of Us/ The Players Club) both said that MJ is innocent until proven guilty.

He said, "I've met Michael a few times and I guess my biggest impression is that this is America and it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty and we should try and remember that."

Alec Baldwin showed his support for MJ. SAG nominee ALEC BALDWIN is hoping that if he's found innocent, Jackson's career and name will stay intact. "Everything he does gets magnified and blown out of proportion," he said. "But if he's not guilty of a crime, then they've ruined the reputation of a very talented guy."

Stephen King Defends MichaelHorror legend points out "thin" case

In his latest The Pop of King column, published in the 13 February issue of Entertainment Weekly, Stephen King tackles the King of Pop's case, concluding with "What I'm asking is whether this is a country where a peculiar person such as Michael Jackson can get a fair shake and be considered innocent until proven guilty..."

Whitney Houston showed her support for her friend, Michael Jackson in Moscow on February 10, 2004. She sang a little bit of Michael's classic song, "Heartbreak Hotel". She said afterwards, "I love you, Michael".

Lauryn Hillsays it's obvious he's innocent, there's a thread on the Gen Discussion about it

Omarion said that Mike is the greatest however he is afraid to be as big as Michael because of what MJ is going through.

DMX - "Michael Jackson will always be the King of Pop for me, always," he told a group of journalists in Los Angeles on the weekend where he was promoting his latest film, Never Die Alone.

"I personally don't think he really committed any crime. If it's been happening for awhile, why is it coming up now? I don't believe it."

Da Band
- On MTV2 they're running a clip of Da Band shouting 'support Michael Jackson! Michael Jackson is innocent! We're behind Michael!' Just in case someone is lost, Da Band is a group on P.Diddy's Bad Boy label and they are the stars of MTV's Making the Band.

Kelly Osbourne - "I think they should leave him alone. If he's found guilty, he should go 2 jail, but if not, they should just leave him alone."

Ludacris - "Definitely people are trying to go after him 'cause he's a celebrity, trying to make an example out of him," Ludacris said. "Hopefully, justice will prevail."

Lionel Richie supported Michael!

Kanye West – Kanye was on a Chicago radio show this morning and they mentioned that the police has confiscated Michael's undies. And some loser who is supposed to be the "comedian" told the lame Kmart joke about little boys pants being half off. Kanye didn't laugh.
Then they asked him what advice would he give Michael and he said, "I'd ask him if he wants to buy a beat from me." then the host laughed and said, "yeah, that's right keep it business" then Kanye was like, 'I LOVE Michael Jackson, EVERYBODY loved Michael when we was kids' and the hosts agreed. . .
And he went on and on about how he loves Michael. Then the host said, "well, who did you listen to when you were little? Who did you look up to in music?" then Kanye said, "MICHAEL JACKSON" as if to say, "B@#ch I just said I listened to Michael Jackson!" It was funny.

Usher - One thing Usher is careful about, of course, is getting caught in any scandal. Just look at the mess his hero Michael Jackson is in right now. "Oh, I think Michael's innocent," Usher states immediately.
"In America you're innocent until proven guilty, that's what the law says but that's not what the general population says - we've already in our minds begun to accuse the man of being a rapist." he shakes his head. "We're not looking at all of his accomplishments, how much of a humanitarian he has been.
I think he's got personal issues, yes, much deeper and darker than anyone could even know. But I think all this only makes it harder for him to deal with, so if you cared about him you'd back up."

James Brown - "I love Michael, period. It's strange that they waited so long to come back and say so many things about the man. It's like me paying for being black all over again.
I'd love to see the world get Michael back as Michael is very needed. They work programmes out for countries and they should be able to work one out for him, a man who's helped every country. If he needs to be escorted, needs to have protection with him, bodyguards, then give him that."

Anatascia
was being interview backstage (this July) before performing. The host asked her which artist does she most admire and she said ... MICHAEL JACKSON '........really, really nice guy....I hope he'll be cleared and can pick up the pieces. You can tell in someone's eyes if they have a hidden agenda, and I don't believe it with him. I'm going to be really shocked if I find otherwise. I truly believe he is innocent.'

Phil Collins
- A new one, Phil Collins tongue.gif I've been told recently, stright after LWMJ he was telling interviewers how he'd been to Neverland, he, as always ( he was the first person to defend Michael in 1993 as well! ) was very kind, sweet and supportive, and said he didn't belive Michael was guilty of anything!

Chapman
- "There's no doubt the guy is a musical genius and he's brilliant. Whether we'd all want to admit it or not, he's shaped the music of a lot of us. We may never hear the rest of the art that's in him because of all that's going on, and that's a sad thing." — Steven Curtis Chapman, Grammy winner for pop-contemporary gospel album

M.C. Hammer
- "I'm more concerned about his life, his freedom. The gift of music is in him, it comes from his inner soul, so he'll do fine with music. But right now the concern is about the man." — former Grammy winner M.C. Hammer.
